Jeep® Wrangler Ducks

The assortment of Jeep® Wrangler ducks seen on dashboards around Ozark is usually a collection of gifts left by other drivers of other Jeep SUVs. Other drivers generally leave Jeep® Wrangler ducks on the driver’s side mirror. The owner will add it to their dashboard.

Jeep® Ducking Trends

In addition to the rubber ducks, there are some other Jeep® ducking trends to note.

    • Jeep Wrangler SUVs are usually the recipients of most rubber ducks. However, other models, such as the Jeep® Gladiator, Jeep® Renegade, or Jeep® Compass, will receive rubber ducks as gifts.
  • The rubber ducks are usually left on Jeep Wrangler models by other Jeep drivers. Many people who leave ducks on Jeep Wrangler models claim to be Jeep drivers themselves. Sometimes, Jeep® SUV fans, who don’t own a Jeep® vehicle, will leave rubber ducks.
  • People usually place rubber ducks on the driver’s side mirror, probably because the driver can see them best there. People sometimes place rubber ducks on the hood.

Jeep® Ducking History

While some people say that Jeep® Wrangler ducking began in the 1990s, it gained popularity in 2020. The Jeep ducking trend originated with Allison Parliament, a woman from a small town in Canada. During a trip to the U.S., Allison encountered an angry driver who claimed she was spreading COVID-19 into Canada. Not long after, she bought a bag of rubber ducks to play a prank on her friend.

Upon leaving the store, she noticed a pristine Jeep® SUV. She placed one of the rubber ducks on the driver’s side mirror and wrote “Nice Jeep” on the duck. Allison said the gesture was an act of kindness and a way to spread positivity during the pandemic. The driver suggested that Allison post her kind action on social media, where Jeep® Wrangler ducking went viral.
